The corner paintings
and arch decoration are in oils and varnished. The corners
and arch design are decorated with gold leaf gesso ornaments
to make our dials just as handsome as the originals.
We use a falseplates to attach the dial to the movement
to minimise the possibility of dial feet distortion.
The dial features a calendar aperture decorated in gold
in keeping with the period. A set of period, blued steel
hands complement the dial and are carefully profiled and
finished to the highest standards in keeping with the dial.
We also make square brass dials with silvered chapter and
seconds rings with cast brass spandrels in the style of
the 1760’s to fit our plain hood, cottage style longcase
clocks.
